Air New Zealand has unveiled a transformative new travel uniform that seamlessly fuses contemporary design with rich cultural storytelling, redefining how the airline represents Aotearoa on the global stage. Created by renowned New Zealand designer Emilia Wickstead and featuring bespoke artwork by tā moko artist Te Rangitu Netana, the uniform pays tribute to Māori and Pasifika heritage while embracing inclusivity and modernity. With over 6,000 staff worldwide set to wear the new attire, the collection not only elevates the airline’s visual identity but also delivers a unique and meaningful passenger experience rooted in authenticity, diversity, and national pride.

Air New Zealand has launched a bold new uniform collection that redefines its brand identity through the lens of heritage, storytelling, and contemporary design. This fresh look is more than a wardrobe update—it’s a statement of pride in Aotearoa New Zealand’s unique culture, created by acclaimed London-based Kiwi designer Emilia Wickstead and brought to life with hand-drawn patterns by renowned tā moko artist Te Rangitu Netana.
Worn by over 6,000 staff across the globe, the new attire fuses high-end fashion with deep cultural symbolism. Each garment reflects the essence of New Zealand while reinforcing the airline’s distinct position in global aviation as a brand that leads with authenticity, excellence, and representation.
Among the standout pieces is The Fine Print – Dress, adorned with kōwhai-inspired prints symbolising resilience and renewal. Another is The Collective Thread – Shirt, designed to be gender-inclusive, uniting both ground staff and cabin crew under one cohesive visual identity. Adding further depth, The Woven One – Ie Faitaga will be piloted by Pasifika team members, further highlighting Air New Zealand’s commitment to cultural representation and workplace inclusivity. The pilot uniform has also been reimagined, showcasing elegant pinstripes and an inner Kiwi feather motif to honour leadership and national spirit.
